The vision of one laptop per child, what is your opinion on this?

One laptop per child (OLPC). This idea was pumped me up to doing more research about this. Well, I found that many people were support the idea because by announces this technologies, we all can produces children who will be able compete among themselves in computing and education so they can develop the new ways in learning. Basically, this idea also was practices in Malaysia too, with government offer a free netbook for student in secondary school. The idea is simple. They want each student able to learn about skills and know how to use it. Besides, this also indirectly support family that has low-income. For me, the idea one laptop per child (OLPC) was brilliant and bizarre where the children able to involvements the skills in studies so, they will able to produces people who are good both in education and computing. This is good news for those countries who practices the idea because they will get the best ever product to develop their countries in future. Unfortunately, all this reverie will not happen if there is no rule to control the children. Today anything is on our finger whether good or nothing is. As conclusion, we need to come up with several steps to control our children with anything that can ruin our children before we all can achieve our reverie.  

   

         

How has the development of information technology influenced the common traditions of a society?

Based on Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), “Information Technology in its broadest sense encompasses all aspects of computing technology. Information Technology, is concerned with issues related to advocating for users and meeting their needs within an organizational and societal context through the selection, creation, application, integration, and administration of computing technologies.” From that, we can say information technology is a general knowledge about computing technologies. As we know, development of information technology has influenced the common traditions of a society and also has brought many advances to the people from thousands of years ago. Compare to the past thousands years, there are no technologies but human tried to overwhelmed their problems so that their life become easily even they are using rock, wood or something else. But, in this 21^st century, people already advance in technologies they have everything and about 99% people depends on technologies in their life. For example, several years ago, people still use smoke for give signal or aware with something and they also using birds to send information or contacts with somebody. Nowadays, people did not using anymore all the old matter because they are using gadget which is cellphone to dealings people. From here, we can see encroachment in information technologies already bring so many impacts including positive and negative impacts to society.

What should we do to overwhelm the lack of knowledge about technologies among society? Are we need numerous steps? Some society are nothing when dealing with technologies because they could not accept any technologies otherwise still believe in their ancestral beliefs. Unfortunately, they did not realize technologies are very helpful to them to simplify their life. In that case, we need to share our knowledge and provide tutoring about technologies, hopefully they can accept it. Basically, they will able to accept technologies when they already have understanding about technologies, knows the function also knows how to use it and from here the society had influenced themselves with technologies.

Furthermore, as mention above, everything, everywhere now are depending on technologies like 99 % people using to overcome their difficulties in their daily life. The advancement of information technologies is a mercy to mankind and this technologies we cannot have right now if there is no effort from those who are always working hard to create or find new discoveries like Alexander Graham Bell (Telephones), Thomas Alva Edison (Light Bulb) and many more. From their idea, our lives had convert from poor to afford something pleasurable lives as we live now.  

Therefore, improvement of technologies already change society especially kid’s behavior. These negative impacts happen when kids now overpowering using technologies rather than going outside like to playing some sport, meets friends or anything else that bring many benefits to them so our kids can be became more active and healthy. But, what we can see is kids nowadays like to waste their time by communicate people only in the social sites or addicted with games. This behavior can produce a less active human and do not know how to socialize. In addition, this advancement has predisposed our lives to expect one hundred percent of the technologies to help us. This is benefits for us but we need to consciously that technologies will able to harm us like to make people become more lazy and sluggish. As human, we should have a competitive edge in their own personal self-improvement without expecting technologies one hundred percent because one day all the technologies will control us due to the unduly dependent the technologies. Thinks properly and do not make mistake for our future.
